Pills and lotions are not suitable solutions for everyone and hair transplants can be time-consuming and might not always produce long-lasting results. PRP for hair loss is an effective and natural method of regrowing lost hair in a non-surgical manner with no side-effects or prolonged downtime.

The PRP treatment for hair loss in men is a three-step procedure which involves drawing the patient’s blood, processing it and then injecting it into the scalp. By increasing blood supply to the hair follicle, the procedure triggers natural hair growth and an increase in the thickness of the hair shaft.

Prior to the treatment

We recommend booking an appointment at our clinic for our expert to analyse the state of your scalp and see whether PRP for hair loss in men is a suitable treatment for you.

During the Treatment

The process starts by drawing the blood from the patient; usually from the arm. The blood is put into a centrifuge in which it is spun in order to separate the blood into platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma and red blood cells. From this, we will only use the platelet-rich plasma which is drawn up into a syringe and then injected into specific areas on your scalp.

After the Treatment

After the treatment, your scalp may look a bit red and feel tender to the touch. This, however, will subside in the following hours.

RESULTS

Significant results for this treatment can be seen within two to three months.

FAQs

AM I A SUITABLE CANDIDATE FOR THIS TREATMENT?
We do not recommend this treatment for people who use blood thinners, heavy smokers or people who have a history of alcohol or drug misuse.
CAN PRP STOP MALE PATTERN BALDNESS?
Men who suffer from genetic hair loss by the crown or temples tend to respond well to the treatment, therefore we recommend this procedure to treat male pattern baldness.
IS PRP BETTER THAN A HAIR TRANSPLANT?
Both treatments have their advantages and disadvantages; however, PRP is a non-surgical alternative to hair restoration which means that you will experience significantly less downtime and virtually no pain.
